About GRMA
Grand River Malayalee Association (GRMA) is a non-profit cultural organization incorporated under the laws in the province of Ontario, Canada. It is a voluntary community organization of the people of Kerala (a south Indian State) who reside in the Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, and Guelph areas in Ontario, Canada. It's mission is to preserve and promote the moral, social, cultural, educational, literary, and artistic heritage of the Malayalee community in the area. Malayalees in the Grand River area have added enormously to their individual communities. Since they have settled in these areas years ago, these Malayalees have distinctly added to the many aspects of life. These include advances in educational, medical, and financial areas. The association began as a small cultural group in 1999 with a celebration of the Onam festival. It has grown considerably since its humble beginnings. Today, it is an independent association of Malayalees with a growing membership and active annual calendar of events.
